About the company
Remote World is partnering with a the USn digital commerce company to hire for this role. They run one of West Africa's fastest-growing online marketplaces and need live chat agents who can resolve customer issues quickly and leave people satisfied.
The role
You'll handle live chat and email support for buyers and sellers — answering product questions, resolving order and payment issues, and escalating anything complex. Speed and warmth matter equally here: customers should feel helped, not handled.
What you'll do
- Respond to live chat queries within SLA targets (typically under 2 minutes)
- Resolve order, payment, and account issues using internal tools
- Escalate complex or sensitive cases with full context
- Log all interactions accurately in the helpdesk system
- Identify patterns in recurring issues and flag to the team lead
What you'll need
- Fast, clear, friendly written communication in English
- Calm and patient under pressure — you don't rush or get frustrated
- Quick learner with software tools
- Reliable internet and a quiet workspace
Nice to have
- Experience with Zendesk, Intercom, or Freshdesk
- Previous BPO, call centre, or customer service experience
- Familiarity with e-commerce or payments platforms
