About the company
Remote World is partnering with a UK retail analytics company serving major grocery and fashion brands – a UK-based employer – to hire for this role. Their platform aggregates data from retailers' ERP, loyalty and POS systems to help buyers and category managers make better ranging and pricing decisions.
The role
You'll build the Power BI dashboards and SQL data models that retail buyers use to manage their categories. Working with the analytics engineering and client success teams, you'll take client briefs through to published reports, ensure data accuracy and iterate on dashboards based on user feedback.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards for retail category management
- Write and optimise SQL queries to source and transform data
- Work with clients to understand reporting requirements
- Document data models and calculation logic clearly
- Monitor data freshness and resolve pipeline issues flagged by clients
What you'll need
- Strong SQL – you can write complex queries across multi-table schemas
- Hands-on Power BI experience for dashboard and report building
- Understanding of retail metrics (sell-through, stock turn, margin)
- You communicate data clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Good async written communication
Nice to have
- Experience with DAX for Power BI calculations
- Familiarity with Azure Synapse or Databricks
