About the company

Remote World is partnering with an AI startup building document intelligence tools for professional services –€” a UK-based employer –€” to hire for this role. Their product extracts structured data from contracts and regulatory documents, and is used by law firms and compliance teams across the UK.

The role

You'll work on the Python services that parse, classify and extract information from complex documents. You'll join a small backend team, building ETL pipelines, improving extraction accuracy and maintaining the internal tooling that the ML team relies on.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain Python services for document parsing and extraction
• Write data pipelines to clean, transform and load document data
• Collaborate with ML engineers on feature engineering and model integration
• Write tests and maintain code quality across shared libraries
• Document services and contribute to internal developer guides

What you'll need

• Solid Python experience –€” you've built something meaningful with it
• Comfortable with data manipulation (Pandas or similar)
• Understanding of REST APIs and JSON
• You write clean, tested, documented code
• Good async written communication

Nice to have

• Familiarity with NLP libraries (spaCy, Hugging Face)
• Experience with cloud storage (S3, GCS)
